Word is quickly making its way around the interwebs that “The Answer” will be officially announcing his retirement from the NBA sometime this week. It’s been a long time coming–A.I. hasn’t suited up since 2011 when he played in a Turkish league, and prior to that his last game in the NBA was with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2010–but it brings to an end one of the wildest careers in NBA history.
Through it all–from the NBA Finals run in 2001 to the practice rant to his being traded to his emotional return home–one thing remained true: Allen Iverson gave 110% every time he stepped onto the court in a meaningful game (i.e. not in practice) and left it all out there.
